A gorilla, relaxing on a warm summer afternoon.
What a specicial day I had today. This morning I made crepes ( or as one of my exchange students would call them, creeps!!) for breakfast. We sat out on the deck and enjoyed a lovely breakfast of crepes and rubarb sauce made from rubarb that I grow in my garden. I asked my husband what was on his agenda for the day. As it turned out, he had nothing planned and said, "let's go to the zoo!" We had such a wonderful time.
Chicago is such a special city. If you are board, it's your own fault. Lincoln Park Zoo is a gift to the city. IT'S STILL FREE!!! The zoo is one of 3 zoos that are still free in America. The zoo does everything it can to offer a family a wonderful outing. There are lockers where you can store your cooler and other belongings for a picnic lunch. The grounds are absolutely beautiful. There are so many places to put out a blanket, eat your lunch, and enjoy the scenery. And then there are the animals. Just sit back and enjoy the pictures that I have posted. Allow yourself to imagine that you are in Africa, looking at the most amazing creatures this earth has to offer. Not all the animals are from Africa, so if you like, just skip from continent to continent.
I just found out that if you click on a picture, it will enlarge. ( I'm still in the remedial computer class) Enjoy.
