I am so late at getting this posted, but I just had to get it in and not let the day completely get away from me. If you will remember, a few weeks ago, I did a piece called The Wednesday Showcase Hall Of Fame. Everyone, well almost everyone who was showcased last year was highlighted in that post. I said almost everyone as I left one person out, but there was a method to my madness which will be explained later in this post. I also said that if you are a follower of my blog and you have a blog that I may not know about, send me an email and let me know about your blog. I LOVE a go-getter and our first person up is the only one who responded to me and sent me her blog address. So, without further ado...our first showcased blogger of the year is Stacie of http://www.staciethinksshecan.com/ . I was unable to find her description, but from going through her blog I can tell you that she sews, she knits and she isn't afraid to try something new.
First up is a top that she downloaded as a free pattern.
As you can see above, it is a very cute little top. If you are interested in the pattern, you can find it here.
Now all of you know that I am a sucker for a dog and this face was just a little cute cute not to post. This picture was taken in conjunction with a quilt that Stacie was working on. So she quilts too!!
Above is an example of her courageous creativity as this was the very first knit tee that she ever made. Great job Stacie!
She did a great little post on making bibs and burp cloths. You can see her tutorial here.As you can see above and below, this is a woman that Prttynpnk would adore. There's a wild woman living inside this body! Such great animal prints.
Do check out her blog. Stacie has such a wonderful spirit!
Now I said that I left someone out of the Showcase Hall of Fame post. The person I left out was Robin of http://alittlesewing.com/. When I showcased her blog last year, Robin had just been offered a new job. So many of us celebrated along with her. Sadly, it all came to a very devastating end. This is a woman that I greatly admire. She licked her wounds, asked why, and grieved. What I admire so much though is how she handled the entire situation. As I said when I started this post, I love a go-getter and that is exactly what Robin is. She did not allow her disappointment to keep her down. She revamped her blog and off she went. I am so very inspired by Robin, so I think it is only fitting that she is once again showcased in this new year. Here are some of her fabulous creations;
A fabulous coat. If you look through her blog, you will find wonderful information on the process of making this coat.
A top she whipped up when her Ravens won the last playoff game. She even added the logo to the sleeve. The Ravens need to hire this woman!!
An incredible knit dress. So lovely.
And finally, this wonderful little silk dress. I absolutely love how she paired it with the dark hose and shoes.
Here is Robin's description of her blog,
"Welcome to my sewing blog, where I share tips & tricks for sewing clothes that fit and flatter. It's all about self-expression through personal style. I sew for my home now and then, and digress into random topics, too. I hope you will visit often!"
If you would like to learn a little more about Robin, you can read her about page on her blog. You can find it here, http://alittlesewing.com/about-me.
Robin is so much more than a blogger and a seamstress, she is a personal hero of mine. She has shown grace under pressure, an incredible trait.
I am so excited about this upcoming year. Thank you so much for taking a little time out of your day to spend a few minutes with me. I am looking forward to meeting so many more of you!

I followed Robin before, and was sad to hear that her new position didn't work out. Your kind comments are what we need in this world. Thankyou for showcasing her again.

ReplyDeleteI've said it before, The Wednesday Showcase is my favorite post of the week. How lucky I am to have this opportunity to personally get to know so many wonderful people and then to share who they are and what they do with so many others!
DeleteRobin is great, thanks for reminding me about her blog!
ReplyDeleteHey! Thanks for the the great coverage. I was reading it through Google Reader and it was really fun to see the top of my head at the bottom. I thought she looked like me....then I kept scrolling. Surprise! You nailed everything I do, or try to do very well. Sew, Quilt, Knit (failing) - I'm also a special ed teacher and a Realtor. I'm just all over the place. :-) Thanks again!
ReplyDeleteAren't unexpected surprises the best?!! As you may have figured out, when I showcase a blog, I begin following that blog. Helps to keep my sanity in tact, well, a little anyway ;-) So happy to have you as a follower and I am looking forward to getting to know you:-)
