The Wednesday Showcase

Wednesdays are like a day spent digging for gold as I always come away from this post a little richer. Lucky me!! As always, we have two incredible ladies to meet or maybe you know them already so just smile as their face appears and say, "I know her!"
First up is a very lovely lady, Juliet from http://crazygypsychronicles.blogspot.com/. Here's her description of her blog, "My blog covers my adventures in sewing, seam ripping, knitting, crafting, cooking, baking, brewing and more - all in the pursuit of home-spun happiness." After scrolling though her blog and I can that happiness literally rolls off the pages of her blog.
Since Juliet is on the opposite side of the world, our winter is her summer. It is so lovely to see pretty summer dresses right now as I look out over 10" of snow here in Chicago!! Up first is a dress that I found especially pretty. From the front it looks like a simple little dress,
but check out the back. Aren't those straps delightful?!! I may have to copy this idea. Just love it.
Another set of cute little summer dresses.
Funny, I don't remember the 60's looking quite as cute!
My heart did a flip when I saw this picture. Could it be....is she a pilot? Alas, no, but she did buy her father aerobatic lessons. May I just say that a woman who goes out and coordinates so beautifully with the airplane needs a license. I don't think she planned to have her dress coordinate with the plane so I think it might be an omen of sorts...you need a license....you need a license!!!!! Forgive me, but I can tell you that it's a lot more fun to be in the air than on the ground.
Juliet also participated in Prttynpnk's Jungle January challenge. Her pictures were so creative.
Do check out Juliet's blog. She is full of fun, happiness and great ideas.

Next up is Katie of http://katiekadiddlehopper.blogspot.com/. She's a stay at home mom who just happens to be a pediatrician. Wow! She says, "I've been sewing since I was a young sprite, but took a long hiatus during my medical education. I am now rediscovering the joy of sewing as I create for myself and my family (but mostly myself!)." Not only has she rediscovered sewing, I think her machine is on fire with all the sewing she manages to do, and beautifully I might add!
Check out this incredible pair of skinny jeans. I included the picture below just so you could see the wonderful fabric.
Another modern day take on the 60's. Check out the shoes! I told you that the 60's never looked so good!!!
This is the hunk in Katie's life. What an adorable child and an adorable outfit made by mom. Good thing I'm not his mom as he would have me wrapped around his little finger. Oh my goodness is this child ever cute!!!
Katie is passing on her love of sewing.
I think she must have sprinkled this little girl with magic dust as she made this hat all on her own. Wonderful!!
I've said it before, I'm a sucker for a mother and daughter photograph so I just had to include this picture. Katie also participated in Prttynpnk's Jungle January challenge. She did a number of wonderful pieces. This top is especially nice. You should really check out how she did the trim on her top. You can see the post here, http://katiekadiddlehopper.blogspot.com/2013/01/jalie-2794-fba-and-double-band-finish.html
Another Wednesday comes to a close and once again, I've struck gold. Two great ladies that are putting their own special touch on the sewing world. Fabulous!
Happy Wednesday Everyone!
Rhonda

  5. I made that same Simplicity jumper in 1967, soon after DD was born. It was beautiful - a gold basketweave wool, lined in a lt. taupe rayon. Those were the days. Glad to see the pattern used again...........Lydia - will post as anon.
